The third annual Visions of Sugar Plums Christmas Cookie Tour of local Bed & Breakfast Inns takes place December 14-15, 2013, from 2pm to 4pm each day. Black Mountain, known as the “Front Porch of Western North Carolina”, is a charming, inviting community that celebrates Christmas in big and small ways, and the Visions of Sugar Plums Christmas Cookie Tour is part of the holiday fun.

The tour kicks off at the Black-Mountain Swannanoa Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center, which is also the place to procure tickets beforehand or on the days of the tour. From there, cookie tour participants can head to five local Bed & Breakfast Inns and small locally-owned hotels to enjoy the holiday decorations and taste homemade cookies. B&Bs are known for featuring unique culinary delights, and Christmas cookies are no exception! Participating B&Bs put a spin on traditional cookies, offer up their own specialties, or partner with local bakery businesses to provide sweet holiday treats.

Tickets are $12 for the first adult ticket, which includes a gift bag and recipe booklet for all the cookies on the tour. Additional tickets for adults in a group are $10 per person (no gift bag). Children 5-16 yrs are $5 each and kids under 5 years old get to go on the tour for free.

Proceeds from the Visions of Sugar Plums Christmas Cookie Tour are donated to the Swannanoa Valley Christian Ministry, which oversees a local food pantry and provides emergency assistance and vital services to those in need, and to the Black Mountain-Swannanoa Chamber of Commerce, which promotes tourism in the area and helps more than 30,000 visitors each year to explore the Swannanoa Valley east of Asheville, NC.
