Description:

Oklahoma has a sparkling clean, happy, colorful and tasty festival we call State Fair!

Food!! Just say State Fair and your mouth starts watering for the cinnamon rolls that you’ll wait in line for 30 minutes for.  They say this year it’s all about bacon.  Bacon wrapped corn dogs, bacon bloody marys, etc.  Save room for a stop at the ice cream bar booth.

A wanna-be farmer? Tour the modern agriculture “barns” to view all of the different  animals and livestock from Oklahoma.

Shopping? Outdoor displays turn your man’s head as he dreams of his own tractor or workshop.  Of course, in Oklahoma, we shop storm shelters at the State Fair too.  There are hundreds of vendors selling everything from Made In Oklahoma products to quilting machines, saunas, jewelry, old-fashioned candies, oh you know!

Shows! Of course, we have Disney on Ice and Rodeo’s with big name artists, plus free music and shows going on all day all over the park.  It’ll get your happy on!  Don’t forget to win your honey a big red teddy bear to carry around with you when you visit Midway.  Take your teddy bear on some of the great rides!

When you want some old-fashioned quiet, take a walk through the building with the “blue-ribbon” arts and crafts, jams, jellies, pickles and cakes.  Call home and tell Mom she has a blue ribbon on her afghan.

Yes, the State Fair of Oklahoma is old-fashioned happy fun.

From the Author: Gary and I love to have a date at the State Fair. Been going for 34 years! We don our cowboy hats and jeans, (just our non-work clothes) and plan to indulge in Fair Food. Gary looks for the long-curly fries and a jug of root bear. I'm after a foot-long corn dog and mustard. We love to watch all the people, to visit all the exhibits, and listen to the music going on around the park. Gary sits down outside and people watches while I take about an hour looking at all the crafts, trying to decide why this one didn't place but that one did. Someday, I'm going to enter something, Wear your walking shoes, miles of stuff to see and loads of calories to walk off anyway. Enjoy!
