With seemingly gazillions of lights, the Lights on the Landscape at Garvan Woodland Gardens has quickly become a world-class destination! The event runs through December 31, and is closed on Christmas day. The Holiday Lights appear from 5-9pm.
Plan to spend a couple of hours wandering through the gardens, or you may explore the lights on a golfcart with a guide. The lights and scenes cover acres of the Garvan Gardens, and include not only Christmas scenes but also autumn leaves, a train that children may climb on, and a gigantic tree with lights timed to awesome music. Plus Santa visits several times throughout the month!
In the pavillion, you’ll be invited to roast a marshmallow or two over an open fire. You will also find a warm cup of hot chocolate available near the amazing miniature train. Walk over to the gorgeous Anthony Chapel, a glass woodland chapel that hosts many free concerts during the month of December.
All ages, from toddlers to great-great-grandparents will enjoy the enchantment and magic of these holiday lights. Dress warmly, and expect to leave a happier person.

From the Author: Lots of people take their photos for Christmas cards at the gardens. At the koi pond, hundreds of koi will come to the edge splashing and seeking food. Kids love this moment!
