Come Celebrate the Holiday Season with a movie at the Island Cinema in Fashion Island in Newport Beach. Fashion Island itself is great during the Holiday Season, so take in it’s festive atmosphere also. The Island Cinema is probably the first movie theater you’ll see with these luxurious accompaniments that make you wish you could see all your movies in that setting. The seats are lush, reclining leg loungers (more like first class seat on airplanes), with large padded arms and a table top between each seat. Each of the 7 theaters are smaller than what you are used to seeing in theaters. There are about 50 seats in each, so there is lots of walking space and leg room. A movies host(ess) introduces you to their screen and the movie that is playing. Then they explain what services they provide you while you kick back and enjoy your movie experience at the Island Cinema.
The café and snack counter have a full food selection for you: salads, hamburgers, sandwiches, hot dogs and all the more usual theater snack stuff too. Your drinks can be Perrier, usual water, sodas and for the adults wine and beer. These will be brought to your seat and if you want more in the middle of the movie, just ask and you shall receive. The Holidays just make a great excuse to go and enjoy the lap of luxury, but a visit the Island Cinema anytime is a great experience.
From the Author: Lucinda & I have only experienced the Island Cinema twice. It wasn't here as this type of theater when we lived in Santa Ana, just a hop, skip and a jump from Newport Beach. Our first visit the theater was on our somewhat annual business retreat to our time share at Newport Cost Villas, around the corner from Fashion Island. The second was last Holiday Season when we invited all our family to the time share. Since our son & daughter are limitedly involved in our business venture, Lucinda's Country Inn in Northern California's Fair Play Wine Country, we had them come down so we can go over some business stuff, yet have some family fun and enjoy the holidays.
