The seven-acre Glensheen estate will be spectacular and spooktacular for their annual pumpkin display. As night falls, the entire grounds and Lake Superior waterfront will be illuminated with grand pumpkins carved and lit. Over one thousand pumpkins will be creatively carved by artists and students from the Duluth Minnesota area and each will be lit and glowing as you walk the grounds of the beautiful property. Take advantage of the opportunity to make smores and enjoy fire twirlers during the evening. There is also an opportunity to vote for the very best carved pumpkin but we warn you it will be difficult to decide on one that is best!

The Glensheen estate is the historic home of Chester and Clara Congdon built at the turn of the century. The famous family is known for their part in getting iron ore mining started and for setting land side for green spaces and parks. This 39 room mansion contains much of the original furniture and furnishings and is the most visited mansion in Minnesota.

The ticket office for this event opens at 5:30 p.m. with the grounds opening at 6 p.m. The last group begins their tour at 8:30 p.m. and the grounds close at 9 p.m. The parking lot may fill up fast so overflow parking is available at East High School and UMD with a shuttle running every fifteen minutes. The cost for this event is $10 per person or $20 for a family. Children under 17 years of age are free. Go all out and wear your Halloween costume for this fun event!
