Description:
On the first Friday evening of each month, art lovers and artists invade downtown Hot Springs for Gallery Walk. From 5-9pm, tour the galleries and mingle with artists on-hand and eager to discuss their works. Refreshments are typically offered in the galleries.
Hot Springs has been named the 4th best arts community in the United States, right after Santa Fe, New Mexico. You’ll find a wide variety of mediums including oil, watercolors, sculpture, and glass. At the Allison Parson’s gallery, beautiful fused glass jewelry becomes wearable art made by Allison’s sister Lori.
One of our favorite collections is a series of glass and copper “bricks”, each featuring a funky or wise quote. These pieces are located at Gallery Central. Don’t hesitate to pick up the art to read and grasp the entirety of the piece! Beautiful swirled glass pieces by Arkansas native James Hayes is also on display at this gallery.
The art galleries of Hot Springs welcome visitors with friendliness and information. You won’t find any stuffy art galleries here! So come on to Hot Springs for Gallery Walk, the first Friday of every month.
From the Author: You'll find original art of architecturally interesting historic buildings from the Hot Springs area at the Allison Parsons Gallery. Her art is stunning, and she is super kind. After browsing the galleries, stroll to Vina Marita for dinner featuring unusual Mexican dishes and a nice wine list.
