Description:
This PTD Production of Coyote On A Fence is a play about capital punishment and the men on death row in a maximum security prison. It is based on a true story. The main character is John Brennan who occupies a cell next to Alvin ( Bobby) Reyburn. John Brennan writes and edits the prison newspaper, The Death Row Advocate and also writes the obituaries of executed inmates. Alvin (Bobby) Reyburn is resigned to his execution for a hate crime. The plays explores the lives and personalities of these men and their female guard. Through them, we are introduced to people and a world that may be unfamiliar to most of us, and explores different viewpoints of capital punishment. It won the Lois and Richard Rosenthal award in 1998 for Best New American Play and received Obie and Drama Desk nominations.
