Lapp Valley Farm is owned by an Amish family. They’re best known for their incredibly rich and creamy ice cream (Jersey cows!), but they also sell hormone-free milk and fresh churned butter.
Nothing beats getting to actually SEE where your food comes from, and if you’re at Lapp Valley Farm during milking (4:30 – 5:30 pm), you can watch the process. Seeing how spotless the facility is and how well the family cares for (and loves) the animals also helps!
The ice cream parlor offers 16 flavor choices… some pretty unique, like coconut and some tried-and-true, like vanilla. The out-of-this-world creaminess of Lapp Valley ice cream, the family explains, is due to the high butter fat content in the milk produced by their treasured Jersey Cows.
Lapp Valley is a great place to visit with kid, because besides the ice cream, there are a whole slew of animals to have fun with. You can help bottle-feed the calves, play with the bulldog and cats, or watch the peacocks prance around the grounds.
Lapp Valley is one of those places that the tourists love to visit, but so do the locals. It’s a GREAT tourist attraction, but it doesn’t FEEL like one, it’s an authentic, fun, well-kept, and special place that everyone who goes there enjoys!!
