Description:
From November through April, the Brunswick Winter Farmers Market operates every Saturday morning from 9 am to 12:30 pm in the Fort Andros Mill at the foot of Maine Street in Brunswick, Maine. This is the winter version of the farmers market that operates in the summer at Crystal Springs, on Pleasant Hill Rd. in Brunswick. The winter market is a great blend of music, good food, and conviviality. Several dozen venders from all over the mid-Coast area congregate to sell their wares, share information, and reconnect with their summer customers.
Along with the typical selection of produce that keeps into the winter — winter squash, kale, mushrooms, potatoes, apples — the market also has venders of baby greens grown in greenhouses, artisan breads and a variety of baked goods (including gluten-free varieties), several producers of artisan cheeses (both from cow and goat milk), mushrooms, wild-caught fish (lobster, mussels, haddock, etc.), free range poultry, pork and beef grown on local farms, sausage, preserves, spices, prepared food, crafts, locally roasted coffee.
Always a great way to spend a wintry Saturday morning and stock up on fresh, mostly organic or wild-caught, food.
From the Author: A great spot to ward of the winter chills. Music, great fresh baked goods and crafts, winter veggies, prepared food. A favorite winter outing for the whole family.
