Description:
Benmarl Winery is one of the 14 wineries along the Shawangunk Wine Trail in the beautiful Hudson Valley. It is claimed to be one of America’s oldest vineyards. Their award-winning wines reflect the unique characteristics of the local environment. At the 2013 New York Wine and Food Classic, Benmarl Winery took Gold for their ’12 Semi Dry Riesling and ’12 Semi Sweet Riesling. They took Silver for their ’11 Dry Riesling, ’10 Cabernet Franc, ’10 Proprietors Reserve, ’11 Slate Hill Red. Finally, they took a bronze for their ’12 Dry Rose. Sample the wines yourself to determine which is your favorite. Tastings with a souvenir glass are $10 and include 6 wine samplings.
The beautiful estate with panoramic views overlooking the Hudson River Valley is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine or to host a large or intimate affair. Outdoor weddings are common events held on the picturesque grounds in the warmer months, stretching from May to October.
The Winery features a Bed & Breakfast with one guest room. If the B&B is full, don’t despair! Continue along the Shawangunk trail and experience other wonderful wines until you come to another Bed & Breakfast, like the Caldwell House–located under 20 miles South-West from Benmarl Winery, or the Pine Bush House Bed & Breakfast, under 25 miles West of Benmarl.
