On February 23, 2014, the Stanhope House will be the site of a Mardi Gras performance by the Storyville Stompers, New Orleans’ “best traditional brass band”. The 6:00 pm show will be preceded by an authentic New Orleans-style parade down Main Street led by the band and their Grand Master.
The Storyville Stompers have been together since 1981 and have been entertaining audiences all over the world with their genuine Dixieland sound, including performances at the New Orleans French Quarter Summer Festival, China’s Macau International Jazz Festival and First Lady, Hilary Clinton’s Congressional Luncheon.
Proceeds from ticket sales will help support the programming on WNTI-Public Radio. WNTI is Centenary College’s own radio station, which broadcasts from Hackettstown, NJ. The door will open at 4:30 pm, and the show starts at 6:00. To get a good seat, get there early, because the Stanhope House fills up quickly.
Advance tickets are $20. Tickets can be purchased on the day of the event for $25.
