The Shady Maple Smograsbord in East Earl (Lancaster County) PA is nothing short of EPIC!  It’s the largest “Smorgasbore” (aka – Buffet) in the County, and serves both locals and tourists alike.

Shady Maple is open Monday – Saturday for breakfast (5 am – 10 am), lunch (10:45 am – 3:59 pm) and dinner (4 pm – 8 pm).  Closed Sunday.  The buffet stays open until around 9:00 pm, giving late-arriving visitors a chance to enjoy everything as well.

There’s a big soup and salad bar, LOTS of entree and side dish options, and special “rotating” food stations.  There’s always a whole host of PA Dutch specialties like chicken pot pie, roasted pork, chow chow, meatloaf and roasted turkey with gravy.  On top of all that there are daily specials like all you can eat prime rib on Wednesdays and Fish nights on Fridays.  And for anyone who still has any room left, there are all kinds of deserts to chose from, including an ice cream machine.

For people with dietary constraints there are options available for vegetarians and those needing gluten free, just ask for the list from the folks at the front desk.  They even have special pricing available for anyone who’s had gastric bypass surgery.  You’ll need to bring documentation with you to take them up on it though!
