Description:

An annual tradition taking place around the 6th of December where thousands of people from everywhere even far away lands look forward to attending the National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.  This event takes place in Washington DC,  on the Ellipse, AKA President’s Park, a 52-acre park located just south of the White House fence, behind the White House to be more exact. if you are lucky enough to be one of the 3,000 seated and 14,000 standing-room tickets lottery winners, it will be an experience you will cherish for years to come. If you don’t win the lottery seating arrangement to attend the event,  another way to enjoy the show is by watching the live TV stream

This is an incredible show of lights and music. Acclaimed entertainers and a military band perform holiday season music that we all so much love. The peak of the celebration is having the United States President bring a message of peace to all and the actual lighting of the Christmas Tree and of course to see the First Family participating in many events.

From the Author: I haven't been one of the lucky winners so I have not watched the live show. The only way you can attend the concert/show/ceremony is if you win a ticket thru the lottery, which you must enter sometime in October. The date is normally announced by the White House. So we do the next best thing which is to visit the park a couple of evenings prior to the event to take some photos and we get to watch some of the artists practicing for the final show. It is a very special event and a highlight of every December in Washington, DC.
