Description:
Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes (JSDN) play original funky southern rock music that blends mind-blowing Cajun-klezmer style strings on top of Latin-Louisiana groovy horns—all performed with a dance-inducing electricity that showcases one of New Orleans’ most riveting authentic acts.
Since launching in 2001, JSDN has built a hard-core following of local fans; the band also has a wide array of followers from all over the country as a result of rousing performances at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, French Quarter Festival, and a 2015 cross-country tour to promote their third album, 2000 Days — produced by Grammy award-winner Tracey Freeman, who also works with Harry Connick, Jr., Kermit Ruffins, and Rebirth Brass Band.
JSDN is a bona fide regional New Orleans “Laissez le Bon Temps Roulé” party band, but don’t let that fool you. They are also classically trained musicians with a great sense of humor, as evidenced by their stage names, personalities and the tales told in their NOLA-centric songs. Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes’ core group features Johnny Sketch (Marc Paradis) on lead vocals, guitar and electric cello; Busta Gnutt (Dave Pomerleau) on bass and backing vocals; Dirty Johnny (Andre Bohren) on drums; Johnny Rico (Omar Ramirez) on flugelhorn and trumpet; and Johnny Come Lately (Brad Walker) on saxophone.
You can catch JSDN at the Ugly Dog Saloon, Saturday, Sept. 12th, 2015 at 7pm p.m.
