Description:
Fly fishing, wine tasting, live music and more await you at the 15th Annual Virginia Fly Fishing and Wine Festival! On April 11, 2015 and April 12, 2015, visitors and residents alike will travel to the banks of Waynesboro, Virginia’s South River for two days of angling activities:
Classes: Are you a beginning fisherman? An experienced angling enthusiast? Or simply mildly curious about the world of fly fishing? No matter your level of experience, the Fly Fishing and Wine Festival offers a class to suit your interests. Take everything from Ladies Only Beginner Fly Casting to Spey Fly Casting Classes to Bass Bug Fly Tying.
Exhibitors: Explore information and set-ups from fishing schools, outdoor apparel stores, local jewelers, sporting goods, and more.
Wine Tasting: Indulge your palate in sips of wine, beer, and cider from local establishments—Barren Ridge Vineyards, Bold Rock Cider, DuCard Vineyards, Hunt’s Vineyard, Sans Soucy Vineyards, and Sweetwater Brewery.
Mark your calendars now for April 11-12, and start planning your festival getaway! (One quite note: The South River is a “delayed harvest stream,” so all fishing at the festival is catch-and-release.)
From the Author: While I’m not necessarily an avid angler, I do enjoy the Fly Fishing and Wine Festival, as it’s a fun community gathering. The live music is always fantastic, and of course the local libations are always a pleasure to taste. Plus, did you know that this festival is the largest event of its kind in the United States?
