2014 marks the 37th year of the New York State Renaissance Fair in Tuxedo, NY. Arrive in Sterling Forest, located 40 minutes north of Manhattan, and be transported back to the 16th century and Elizabethan England. Throughout the Shire there are comedy, action, storytelling, and magic shows as well as dancing and music. There is a new stage for the 2014 year as well as new street acts to enjoy. With 125 performances daily, be sure to check the daily schedule which changes weekly so you don’t miss the living chess match or the joust. The Shire welcomes visitors from 10am-7pm Saturdays, Sundays, and Labor Day Monday.

There is shopping, from arts and crafts to costumes and artillery. Enjoy a turkey drumstick, a bread bowl of soup, or a gyro and wash it down with a glass of mead honey wine or a stein of beer.

Meet at Matey Groves at 11:15 or 3 to take part in a Pub Crawl. For up to an hour and a half, follow the Brewmaster through the Shire and enjoy 5 drinks. Sign up is at the Information Booth. The Pub Crawl is just $35 per person and in addition to the 5 beers participants will also receive a commemorative pin. If beer isn’t your poison, sign up at the Information Booth for a wine tasting. Entrance to the wine tasting is only $20 per person.
