Description:
This iconic historic barn, in the above photo, tells you you are at Busby Cellars. Another curve in the road and the first driveway on the left and you’re there. This boutique winery is loaded with it’s own recent history. Elliott and Sherrie Graham, owners, developers, winemaker and tasting room staff are everything and they did everything. That’s right, they did everything themselves. They planted the vineyard, they built the winery and Elliott is the winemaker. They built and paid for it as they went along. Together they have built a very well respected and frequented winery. They are on the first or last leg of most visitors’ trip to Fair Play, depending on which way the visitor started their trip. They are just one mile up the hill from the four way stop sign at Mt. Aukum Rd., Bucks Bar Rd and Grizzly Flat Rd. in Somerset, CA.
Elliott’s wines are full of rich flavors that almost everyone loves. He has new releases of Petite Sirah and Grenache. Sherrie and friends will be manning the tasting bar while Elliott will be serving you pulled pork sliders and dessert.
This FREE event is a must do. Their modest prices for all the wines are worth the stop, but when Elliott tosses in the 2010 Barbera for the ridiculously low price of $96 a case, you can’t go wrong.
From the Author: Elliott's wines are the BEST value in the Fair Play Appellation with his price ranging from their Meyers Ranch blend of Zinfandel, Syrah & Petite Sirah at $9.95 a bottle to $20 for their Herbert Vineyard Zinfandel, Block 7 Estate Zinfandel and the exquisite Bordeaux blend "Apparition". Lucinda and I have followed Elliott & Sherrie since their beginning. Their vineyard and winery is just five miles from Lucinda's Country Inn. We've witnessed the maturity of the vineyard, wines and winemaker. All have reached a true virtuoso for your wine tasting experience.
