This cute café is nestled under shady trees and overlooks Coloma’s American River. Owner Brigette Faieta and her team make delicious soups, salads, sandwiches, and snack plates, with vegan, gluten-free, and raw options. Even their shelf snacks are healthy. They offer breakfast and lunch year-round. Feel hungry? Try a gorgeous salad or smoked turkey sandwich. Thirsty? They will make you a custom juice or smoothie, or put together a refreshing lime fizzy or traditional root beer float! Need a pick-up? Try an immune booster “health shot,” or a gelato or sorbet. The Argonaut’s barista Brandon can make you gorgeous coffee drinks – your latte, mocha or hot chocolate will look as beautiful as it tastes. The Argonaut uses fair trade, fresh roasted coffee. Ask for iced or blended in the summer.

The location is just beautiful. The café is in the heart of historic Coloma, in a building that was made in 1916 and has been beautifully renovated. The back room has lots of windows, light, and a view of the river. It’s breezy in the summer, and has a wood-burning stove to keep it warm and cozy in winter. There is a side deck in the shade, and a front deck where you can watch the passers by. They are open seven days a week, 8am-4pm. You can grab-and-go pre-made lunches, or custom order. Some days there are musicians fiddling in front!
