Description:
Tucked away within the confines of the Northside Marina on Sesuit Harbor in Dennis, MA, Sesuit Harbor Café is the quintessential Cape Cod clam shack.
Open seasonally, May to October, the café serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner in what is billed as “the world’s most beautiful dining room.”
Given their proximity to the water, seafood is their specialty, but everything is delicious, including the view.
There are usually long lines at this locally favorite restaurant, but it is always worth the wait. Place your order at the counter and pick up a soft drink on your way to the outdoor dining area.
Seating is at a wooden picnic tables that front the view of the harbor. Listen carefully for the number you were given with your order, as one of the friendly wait staff will deliver your food to the table.
An almost constant stream of boat traffic sails past the café from the marina to the open waters of Cape Cod Bay. We often end up sitting for hours just watching the parade of sailboats, kayaks, jet skis, and mega yachts cruising by.
Their lobster roll is enormous and worthy of a 5-claw rating in my book. Fried clams are also a good choice. The raw bar serves up oysters on the half shell, chilled lobster tails, jumbo shrimp, and scallops. Are looking for a traditional New England steamed lobster with all the fixins? Sesuit Harbor Café is the place to go.
From the Author: Cash or check only; they do not accept credit cards and the nearest ATM is over a mile away. Because they don't have a liquor license, it is BYOB. You'll see lots of folks toting coolers filled with beer, wine, or a favorite cocktail. Make sure to finish your meal before the sun sets, as the bugs can be fierce after dusk.
