Description:

Are you looking to experience a real taste of Alaska native arts and crafts? Do you enjoy a true cultural gathering? Then this event is for you! Every year groups from around the state gather to share their tribal dance and song. People groups from all over the state come to share in this event: Haida and Tlingit, Inupiaq and Athabaskan Indians mingle to showcase their distinct heritage and ancestry. This three day event also brings truly authentic Alaska native art to sell and showcase everything from kuspuks (like a parka) to beadwork and exotic carvings made from wood or baleen from whale.
In addition, workshops include language instruction, dance moves as well as beading and sewing. This is a free event, and open to the public. Take advantage of this golden opportunity in the Golden Heart city to observe a huge gathering of many native people and one-stop-shopping for real Alaskan made gifts.

From the Author: Come prepared to stay late, as performing groups tend to run later than scheduled
