Description:
The Green Leaf grill has a friendly, laid-back atmosphere. The food is excellent, and the owner, Chris Hollinger, has a fascinating backstory. Chris used to be a chef on luxury yachts, and he cooked for Al Pacino along with a variety of other celebrities. However, a boating accident made him want to choose a more stable location, so he then began to work at the renowned Commander’s Palace in New Orleans.
His food at the Green Leaf retains a bit of his New Orleans flair, and if you’re a fan of red beans and rice, drunken shrimp or jambalaya, you should definitely try it out here. But don’t worry; even if you don’t have a taste for seafood, their menu has plenty of other options for you to try including vegan and vegetarian dishes. All pizzas are cooked in a traditional stone oven and made with handcrafted dough.
They also offer fine wines, craft beer, and mixed drinks.
From the Author: Save room for desert. Chris’s mother’s recipe for peanut butter pie is a signature dessert. Chris and his staff make the pie fresh each morning. It often sells out before dinner is over. I personally order my dessert first, before my main meal, to be sure I get a slice!
